Manaslu Circuit Trek is an off-the-beaten trekking trail in Nepal. Wild and remote, Manaslu circuit trekking is trekking around Manaslu (8163m.), the eighth highest mountain in the world. A less crowded trekking route than other classic treks, the Manaslu circuit trek route is also part of The Great Himalayan Trail. During the trek, you can collect the mesmerizing views of mount Manaslu and Ganesh Himal ranges. The trail starts at the low altitude at Soti Khola (869 m.) and then constantly rises to Larkya La (5160 m.) covering the wonderful landscapes, green countryside, lush forests, and huge glaciers along the way. The locals here are a mix of the Hindu and Buddhist religions and the villages reflect Hindu and Tibetan styles. This trekking is a restricted area trekking so at least two travelers and a registered local trekking guide are mandatory.

Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of the great adventure activities in Nepal. This is a combo package for all types of trekking adventures, scenic views, local lifestyles, and cultural heritage sites. You can spot 3 mountains with heights above 8000 m from our way to Larkya Pass at 5106 m height. The majestic Mountain View from 5000 m height will look like you have conquered the mountain.

Manaslu Circuit Trek is long trekking of 14 days which requires a special permit from the Nepal Mountaineering Association. This region is a restricted area and the natural beauty it offers is quite marvelous than that of others. As you move further to the conservation area and high altitude of Manaslu mountain you will be exploring Gurung & Magar village. The cultural heritage site of this area seems good to analyze and has a beautiful memory. Cultural dress, food, heritage site, and festival add an extra flavor to the beauty of massive Manaslu Mountain.  Monasteries made by local Buddhists are even more beautiful. One of the main highlights of the Manaslu circuit trek is the Manaslu conservation area, where one can find different kinds of flora and fauna suitable for making medicine. Lots of flora and fauna from this area are exported to other parts of Nepal and the world for medical purposes. Lotts of endangered animals is found inside the same Manaslu conservational area.

Why Choose Manaslu Circuit Trek?

There are several reasons for choosing Manaslu Circuit Trek over other trekking trails. Hiking from village to village over challenging terrains, visitors will enjoy experiencing fascinating wildlife, geological wonders, the ruins of an ancient civilization, and some of the best outdoor adventures in the world.  It is home to some of the most spectacular scenery and magnificent wildflower blooms that transform this landscape into an explosion of color.

Manaslu Circuit Trek is a great amalgamation of diverse cultures, breathtaking scenery, and geographical marvels. It takes you on a journey around some of the highest peaks in the world towering over 8000 meters. The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a complete package for all thrill-seekers and adventurers alike with its memorable scenery and challenging route up to high altitudes, a perfect stage to leave behind your troubles and stresses and immerse yourself in this serene and peaceful environment.

Accommodation and food during the trek:

During the trek, your accommodation will be tea houses or local guest houses. Rooms usually have twin single beds. Toilet facilities are mostly basic on a shared basis which may be inside the lodge or outside. The most common style is the squat style, but some accommodations have a western style. Things get more basic as we go higher.

You will be served typical Nepali cuisine during your stay at Kathmandu within your booking time. Food during the trek is mostly authentic Nepalese cuisine that includes Dal(lentils), Bhat(rice), curry(veg), pickles, etc. But you can also get foreign cuisine like noodles, pasta, spaghetti, etc. If you find difficulty in choosing the dish from the local menu, our guide can help you. To include lunch and dinner in your trek, you have to verify it during your booking. Otherwise, we will provide you B/B plan by default.

Best time to do Manaslu Circuit Trekking:

The best time to do Manaslu Circuit Trekking starts from March to May (Spring season). At this time of year, the temperature is warmer and the skies are clear. Since this is the spring season, you can see many wildflowers covering the meadows and vibrant Rhododendron flowers covering the forests.

Another best time for this adventurous Manaslu Circuit trekking starts from September to November ( Autumn). The temperature during this time of yours the year is a little colder compared to the spring season. It may fall below -20 degrees sometimes. So better prepare yourselves for some of the extreme nights. The weather is mostly clear and clean.

Manaslu Circuit Trek difficulties:

Manaslu circuit trek is one of the longest treks in Nepal. The trek passes through different climatic and vegetation zones from subtropical to alpine. We will gain approximately 4500 m altitude in this trek and a distance of 177 KM. The terrain in this trail passes from a low river valley to a high alpine region. This trail is recommended for those who are physically strong and have prior experience in high-altitude trekking. But this does not mean others should not try it. We will prepare your itinerary as per your requirement adding extra stops during the trail, so you can acclimatize during the trip. Furthermore,  Adventure Altitude Treks and Expedition will bring all medical equipment necessary for Altitude sickness and other problems.

Electricity and Charging your devices while on Manaslu Trek:

Owing to the small hydropower project, 220 volts of electrical power is available in many villages. Light and power sockets are also available for charging batteries on a payable basis. Villages without electricity normally use solar energy for charging lights and batteries.

Drinking water during the trek:

The Manaslu trek is physically exhausting and drinking a lot of water is a must. The first several days at low altitudes can be hot, so expect a lot of water to be needed. At cooler, higher altitudes, you can feel less thirsty, but drinking lots of water allows you to acclimate. Planning to have at least two liters of water when trekking every day is a smart way to start. Filling up water is quick. Taps in, out, or in guest houses mean that there are plenty of places to fill your bottles and/or your water bladders. This could be where you stay, a lunch stop, or a shared public tap used by locals. Use an efficient sterilization method to make sure your water is safe and not contaminated in any way. Bottled water is available to buy throughout the trek, but we would advise against this for several reasons. You do not need them if you use the sterilization method. Environment concerns are there and also buying water is expensive up in the mountains.

List of equipment needed for trekking in this region:
